I'm using the Xine engine with ALSA output. If the soundcard is busy because some program is using /dev/dsp, then Amarok skips every song until the end of playlist, and says that the device is busy.
In dynamic mode, however, it never reaches the end, so it keeps adding songs and skipping them in an infinite loop. Because Amarok is busy 100% of the time, it is impossible to click "Stop", etc.
