Is there anything new on this? It's been over a year now.
I just installed SUSE 10.0, so I believe I have all the latest stuff, and I just \
tried out kaudiocreater. I didn't realize until after I had ripped 5 CDs that there \
was no setting for the bitrate, and that they were all at 128 (yuk).

There should be a way to change the bitrate within kaudiocreator, without having to \
dig through the menus in kcontrol. They should both set the same config setting, \
however (that's possible, isn't it?), so that this one setting is universal and can \
be set in either place. Maybe kaudiocreator could just bring up the dialog from \
kcontrol.
