Summary: Setting trashcan size (wish), full disk due to trash not
                    apparent if icon hidden
           Product: kio
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Debian testing
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: trash
        AssignedTo: faure kde org
        ReportedBy: bonerti yahoo com

Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.2)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
Compiler: Whatever is used in Debian package version 5.44
OS: Linux

It would be nice if one could set the size of trash can (like on Microsoft Windoze) \
and then... that it would alert one when the trash can is full (as specified by \
another item on the wishlist).

I discovered my disk is full... and found that the trash can is 3.5 GB. Not so \
great.

What complicates the issue is I disabled the desktop icons-- so I didn't even think \
about the trash can. In someways-- I think this could be considered a bug. If the \
trash can icon isn't visible it may not be apparent to a more novice user that the \
trash is gobbling up their disk space.

An alternate to the size setting could be a periodic sweep, where, let's say every \
two months, KDE asks if one wants to empty the trash... or that it just deletes \
things that is in the trash longer than a specified period of time (e.g. a few \
weeks).

There are lots of possibilities. I look forward to improvements.
Keep up the good work!
