I checked the Leaving mails on the server option in Kmail. 

The mails received by Kmail cannot be retrieved again when I opened thunderbird \
later.  However when I log onto the mail server I find the mails are there.  

The mails received by Kmail are perhaps set some flags so that Thunderbird does not \
receive them again :(   So I cannot receive  mails everywhere ...    If I open \
Thunderbird first and then Kmail,  the problem does not exist.
