This *must* be a local issue of your configuration: It works perfectly here:
Create a new account and login => No KMix

1) Please check your personal and system Autostart folders.
2) Also check whether KMilo or KAlarm is running. If they run, stop them and check \
whether the problem persits (make REALLY sure those apps don't get started \
"accidently" by Autostart or KDE services).
