Try this on your command-line:

dig www.google.com 127.0.0.1
dig www.google.com dhcp-given-nameserver1
dig www.google.com dhcp-given-nameserver2

Tell me if the times vary too much.

In any event, there's nothing we can do about it. We just tell glibc to do the resolution.
