There's no need to disable this feature, I now am using this simple patch and I am \
again a happy amaroK user :). I was hoping you could implement an write-protect \
option, because taglib has (or had?) a lot of bugs anyway.

I'm using taglib 1.3.1 compiled with the same compiler.

The bug is very hard to reproduce, I am using amaroK for 2 weeks now and after \
tagging hundreds of files I lost about 10. After grepping my mp3s for 10,000 \
continuous zeros i found 6 more totaly unrelated damaged files.

I think the bug has something to do with the collection not updating properly, \
because the OLD files (properly tagged) were showing the guessed tags for NEW files \
in the playlist.
