Summary: Inline File Renamings: select only the filename
           Product: konqueror
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: unspecified
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: konq-bugs kde org
        ReportedBy: slaout linux62 org

Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.0)

When pressing F2 in konqueror/kdesktop to rename a file directly in the view, the \
whole filename is selected. eg. Renaming file "foo.txt" will select "foo.txt"
We seldomly want to rename the extension.
So it should only select "foo" !
GNOME does that and it's very fast/easy to rename files.

I've seen in KDE 3.4 that sometimes/somewhere this behaviour is used, but not \
remember where. It should be a global behaviour.
It should also be used in "Overwrite" dialogs, when pasting a file that already \
exists in the directory, etc...
