Summary: Holding backspace is like holding alt for menu shortcuts
           Product: kde
           Version: 3.4
          Platform: Slackware Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: coolo kde org
        ReportedBy: nathano pinnacle-exhibits com

Version: 3.4 (using KDE KDE 3.4.0)
Installed from: Slackware Packages
OS: Linux

While typing in Konqueror, Kedit and other applications, I noticed that, when I \
pressed backspace and held it as I hit the next button ("t" or "s", for example), the \
menu at the top of the window was accessed. Pressing backspace + T brings up the \
Tools menu, s brings up Settings, etc. My keyboard shortcuts scheme, at the time, was \
set to KDE with 4 modifier keys. The same happened after setting it to 3 modifier \
keys. I set the shortcut scheme to Windows with the win key, and the bug disappeared. \
I then set my scheme back to KDE with 4 modifier keys, which I'm using as I type \
this, and the bug is still gone.

This may be hard to reproduce. One might try switching schemes several times, \
possibly restarting KDE intermittently, to reproduce (I don't know the internals of \
the keyboard shortcut schemes, so I don't know how effective any of that would be). \
It doesn't *seem* to be affecting me anymore. My xorg.conf file specifies the pc104 / \
en model / layout.
