Summary: Preference for disabling useless controls in kmix
           Product: kmix
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Gentoo Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: esken kde org
        ReportedBy: mchristoph.eckert t-online de

Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.1)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

Especially for AC97 chips, the alsa driver is not able to guess which of the multiple \
possibilities of the AC97 specs is really used on a certain computer. This causes \
alsamixer (and therefore kmix) to offer all controls that match the found chip :( .

On Windows, there's a preference where the user can at least set which controls he \
doesn't want to see, so one can disabble the 3D controls, the telephone input and so \
on, this means one can disable all controls for the chip which have no connection to \
the computer chassis.

Such an option would be great to have in kmix, and also some useful defaults for some \
useless controls to be set invisible per default (telephone, 3D, Mono out, ... come \
to my mind)
