Summary: New page for capturing in mixerwindow
           Product: kmix
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Gentoo Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: esken kde org
        ReportedBy: mchristoph.eckert t-online de

Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.1)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

Well, as a musician and audio user on KDE, Kmix has really become more mature in the \
last versions. Thanks for that.

A problem that exists in almost all mixer applications is that it is still difficult \
to understand the UI, especially if an AC97 chip is used. I often get asked how to \
set up ALSA to simply record some audio.

I'd like to ask for the following:

* Create a new tab in mixer window, which is called »Capture «
* Place there a Popup which lets the user select the input source, like qamix does
* Place there a level meter like qarecord does to show the incoming signal

I have placed screenshots of both on the following URL:
