you'll need to compile kopete yourself. After downloading and unpacking the tarball, run the following commands from the just created directory:

./configure --prefix=`kde-config --prefix` --enable-debug
make
su -c "make install"

After you've finished building Kopete, run it from a command line, save the output, and attach the output to this bug report.
