My mistake, I had done some alterations to the filemanagement profile.  You must 

1) Close the navication panel.  

2) Navigate to the user's home folder, /home/user for example.

3) Next, save the profile "File Management", with "Save URL" checked.

4) Instead of starting konqueror with that commandline, you must actually start \
konqueror using the commandline:

kfmclient openProfile filemanagement

Instead of the "konqueror" commandline depicted in step #1.  Follow the other steps \
as-is.
