Summary: SIGSEGV while trying to open DVI file due to missing
                    *.enc file
           Product: kdvi
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: unspecified
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: crash
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kebekus kde org
ReportedBy: smerf druid if uj edu pl

Version: 1.1 (using KDE 3.3.0, Gentoo)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.3 20040412 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.3-r6, ssp-3.3.2-2, \
                pie-8.7.6)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.7-gentoo-r11

Hi,

after trying to open DVI file Kdvi crashes printing following lines to stdout

----
kdvi (kdegraphics): ERROR: KDVIMultiPage::gotoPage(0) called, but widgetList is empty
kviewshell: ERROR: fontEncoding::fontEncoding(...): The file 'f7b6d320.enc' could not \
                be found by kpsewhich.
KCrash: Application 'kviewshell' crashing...
----

an then showing KViewShell criticall error message box (SIGSEGV)

----
Using host libthread_db library "/lib/libthread_db.so.1".
[KCrash handler]
#5 0x414544a8 in strcmp () from /lib/libc.so.6
#6 0x4113c21b in TT_RunIns () from /usr/lib/libfreetype.so.6
#7 0x082f0da8 in ?? ()
----

(compiled without debug info)

I've no time to recompile kdegraphics without stripping binaries but my point is that \
despite of (possibly) missing file and/or broken configuration application shouldn't \
just crash (maybe some error message box instead).

Regards,

Łukasz Zosiak
