I am in KDE 3.3 and the bug has not been fixed. It should be reopened. It makes no \
difference if dynamic word wrap or static word wrap is turned on or off.

In Kate type in enough words to wrap, then make the window more narrow, to cause \
re-wrap, then split a line with a RETURN, leaving a trailing space, then hit "Rejoin \
lines". The trailing space is lost, causing words to be improperly joined together.

This problem affects Quanta+, which uses Kate, causing HTML errors. The solution \
should be tested in combination with Quanta+ to make sure the bug does not appear in \
the editor of either, with the default settings.
