Yes you're true, I've already configured my keyboard layouts to match my multimedia \
keys.

But though I had to search for the keycodes of the multimedia keys with xev to be \
able to assign them to a value of /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/XKeysymDB. (for example : \
XF86AudioMute)

After that I had to create a file named .xmodmaprc in my home directory with all the \
couples "keycode xxx = XF86???????"

After that you must launch the command "xmodmap ~/.xmodmaprc" when Kde starts (so by \
creating a script to which launch this command in /.kde/Autostart/)

I'm using Mandrake 10.0 and by default you can't use the multimedia keys.

The idea is more to create an interface to be able to map these multimedia keys to be \
able to use them with khotkeys for example...

Though an other interface to process only the actions of multimedia keys could be \
very user friendly! Or at least explain that you have to use khotkeys if you want to \
use them.

Well I hope that what I say is understandable :p
