I would also like to see a better hotpluggin support in kde and think that hal \
(hal.freedesktop.org) would be a nice starting point. Using HAL would AFAIK not only \
make it easier to use hotpulg devices, but also finish the whole "automount disaster" \
(supermount, submount, automount etc.). Gnome-2.8 will probably include the \
gnome-volume-manager which is also based on hal, so the both leading DE would use the \
same base for hotpluggin.
