Summary: view settings not saved in file selector side bar
           Product: kate
           Version: 2.2
          Platform: unspecified
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kwrite-devel kde org
        ReportedBy: deepak antrix net

Version:           2.2 (using KDE 3.2 BRANCH >= 20040204, Mandrake Linux Cooker i586 \
                - Cooker)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.2 (Mandrake Linux 10.0 3.3.2-6mdk)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.3-3mdk

Open the file selector from the sidebar.
Make sure 'short view' is chosen (rightclick>view>short view)
Now, choose small icons (rightclick>view>small icons). the view changes appropriately \
and small icons are shown. But now quit kate and restart, the view is back to large \
icons.

Similarly, the 'show thumbnails' preference for the 'short view' is not remembered.

Expected behaviour: This preference should be saved across sessions.

The preference to show detailed view and not short view is saved correctly and \
remembered across sessions.

'Restore window configuration' (which seems to me to be the closest related setting) \
in 'Configure-Kate> General > Startup' is enabled.
