Summary: Konqueror generates many empty .font* files in icon or
                    multi-column view
           Product: kcontrol
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Debian testing
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: crash
          Priority: NOR
         Component: kcmfontinst
        AssignedTo: Craig.Drummond@gmx.net
        ReportedBy: joekm@earthlink.net

Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1.4)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux

When I select "icon" or "multi-array" view, hundreds of empty files starting with \
".font*" are created. I suspect they are being read from .font.cache-1. Deleting or \
altering that file has no effect as the file is re-written on restart. Changing \
settings on the font installer also does not seem to solve the problem. Problem \
started after I did an "apt-get" install of the deban woody port of Gnome 2.4 \
although I'm not sure if that is related. Updating Konqueror from debian repository \
(to 3.1.3) also had no effect.

In any list view (tree, info, detail, text), the problem does not manifest. However, \
switching to list view while empty font files are being written will sometimes crash \
konqueror.
