Why is this one still unconfirmed ?

Anyway:
Trying to install the 3.1 arts results in
error: failed dependencies:
        arts >= 1.1.93_2003112112 is needed by kdelibs3-3.1.93_2003112112-0

A workaround I've found (which is mentioned in a related bug report) is to do
artsdsp esd
and then use the esound output plugin 
Which has the additional benefit that other apps the require esd/esound all of a \
sudden can acces the sound device as well.
