That's why I tend to press Ctrl+D in any terminal I view. In Kate, I made the embedded Konsole show up (menu preferences -> tool views -> terminal), executed a couple of commands, then pressed Ctrl+D to close it. But it didn't close; instead of that, Kate hanged up, sucking 100% of the CPU. This is using KDE-CVS 20031020. Perhaps now this is not reproduceable. IMHO, pressing Ctrl+D should close/hide the terminal instead of hanging up Kate.
