The Gnome panel automatically rescales icons, regardless of whether they have high-resolution versions, which leads to a blurry interface (this isn't a good thing). Since most icon themes support 64x64 and even some 128x128, the kicker should support these. Also, these larger icons may be used in KDE elsewhere, so it seems like a standards violation to disallow larger icon sizes in the kicker if the overall kicker size is enlarged.
