Arts does it's work (sound and video) so so far so good. When I upgradepkg (or removepkg and installpg) all my KDE 3.0 apps and libs to the newest 3.1 packages, including arts (kde 3.1 works with arts 1.1) it fails to play video from there on. Simple files like mpeg/avi are not viewable. It states that "arts cannot load this file" as the embedded media player, and neither will kaboodle or any other type of program that supports movies (unknown mimetpe video/mpeg is often the general error description). When I reinstall slackware 8.1 and check those movies, kaboodle plays them perfectly using mpeg_lib, and arts doesn't cause any kind of problem. If anyone has the same problem with this, please contact me at mitsumi19@hotmail.com . Also, mp3's still play well, and I do have all the sound in the world. It's just the movies.
