Summary: k3bsetup creates useless group with NIS
           Product: k3b
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: SuSE RPMs
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: trueg@informatik.uni-freiburg.de
        ReportedBy: carsten@yeap.de

Version: (using KDE KDE 3.0.4)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

Hi there,

if /etc/group is controlled by NIS and contains the line

+:::

at the end, all entries after that line are ignored. The setup program k3bsetup does \
not check, if /etc/group is NIS controlled, but simply adds the local group \
'cdrecording' at the very end of the file.

In this case, the group 'cdrecording' is ignored and therefore useless.

WORKAROUND: Move the line with the group 'cdrecording' before the line beginning with \
+

Cheers,
Carsten
