I would like to append two notes:

1.) As an ugly workaround I commented out the relevant sleep() call
    in the libX11 library (file ConnDis.c), the startup time is now
    fine and work with KDE is fun again :-)

2.) This bug affects KDE applications only, other X applications
    start normally. Maybe the X libraries are not to blame...
