If you could run the following command and send me the output, it should really  
help debug this problem: cat /proc/stat | head -n2 (replace 2 with the amount of 
cpus you have plus an extra one, so use 3 if you have 2 cpus), of course if this 
isnt linux then i know your problem straight away.
