This problem happens again. I have an SMP system, also with athlon  
CPUs. The second CPU isn't picked up at all. It constantly shows 0%.  
xosview and top tell a different story which makes sense since I'm  
compiling some kde packages right now.   
 
The link you gave before doesn't work anymore, so I couldn't provide the 
needed information right away. If you need it, just give me a hint, where to 
find the script.
