Package: kspread
Version: 1.2 Beta1 (using KDE 3.0.5 (CVS HEAD >= 20020427))
Severity: normal
Installed from: compiled sources
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (SuSE)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.4-4GB
OS/Compiler notes:

Hi!
I have set the decimal symbol to "," in kcontrol "country and language"
Nevertheless kspread recognizes onyl "." as decimal seperator, which is \
uncomfortable, because my (german) numeric keypad has a "," as decimal character.

IMHO same problem arises for importing excel (and other file formats) with "," as \
decimal seperator.

Question: wouldn't it improve the general acceptance if the last of the 2 characters \
"," and "." in a (sub)string containing only numbers or formulas is magicaly \
interpretated as the decimal character. Example:
123,123,123.45 is the number 123123123.45.
123.123,123.45 is the number 123123123.45.
123.123,123,45 is the number 123123123.45.
123,123,123,45 is the number 123123123.45.
'123,123,123,45 is the char 123,123,123,45.
