Subject: Bug#43320: window.status= in onmouseovers takes effect before href
From: max () lsit ! ucsb ! edu
Date: 2002-05-31 19:54:02
[Download RAW message or body]
Package: kjs
Version: KDE 3.0.5 CVS/CVSup/Snapshot
Severity: normal
Installed from: Compiled sources
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (release)
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: most of the libraries are compiled from source in custom directories
If there's a non-empty href in an anchor tag, it will take precedence over \
onmouseover="window.status ..." with respect to what gets displayed in the status.
Example:
<a href="" onmouseover="window.status='hi mouse'; return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; \
return true;">test</a>
this will display "hi mouse" in the status, whereas
<a href="test.html" onmouseover="window.status='hi mouse'; return true;" \
onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;">test</a>
will display "http://..../test.html" in the status.
