Package: kate
Version: 2.0 (using KDE 3.0.5 (CVS HEAD >= 20020427))
Severity: normal
Installed from:    compiled sources
Compiler: gcc version 2.96 20000731 (Red Hat Linux 7.1 2.96-98)
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.4.18
OS/Compiler notes:

When editing text in Kate, selecting text (either mouse or keyboard) and then \
pressing Ctrl+V to insert it there (and overwrite the selection), causes the selected \
text to be deleted (correctly) but the inserted text is in the wrong location - a few \
characters to the right usually.
