Background is not set either X-MARC-Message: https://marc.info/?l=kde-bugs-dist&m=102019266618838 Package: kdm Version: KDE 3.0.0 Severity: normal Installed from: Slackware Packages Compiler: Not Specified OS: Linux OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified I installed Slackware 8.1 beta2 because it has KDE 3.0 final. I initialized KDM and it worked ok. I changed the setting to have a solid black background. But after that I wanted to change it to a bitmap. Now there the trouble started. I changed it via the configuration panel in KDE itself. But after that the picture did not change at all. After several attempts I decided to delete the kdmrc file in /opt/kde/share/config/kdm/. I ran kdm again and of course a grey X window. No KDM. So I started KDE and made a new kdmrc file with the control panel and clicked on default. Well the control panel wrote a kdmrc file, but now I don't have a wallpaper anymore (moire background from X) but when I login I get only a xterm. It doesn't matter which session I select. I am sure it is a settings problem. Please help me out because I really like the slick kdm. Greetings, Herwarth Heitmann (Submitted via bugs.kde.org)
