Subject: Bug#41988: Internet Keywords Configuration Suggestion
From: DaSpam () juno ! com

[Download RAW message or body]
Package: konqueror
Version: KDE 3.0.0
Severity: wishlist
Installed from: RedHat RPMs
Compiler: Not Specified
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified
The Internet Keywords feature on the Konqueror web browser is an excellent feature; my \
ability to drop a query to a search engine from the Location bar is the reason why I started \
using Konqueror instead of Netscape in the first place. However, the Internet Keywords part of \
the feature (i.e. typing "google" in the Location bar rather than "http://www.google.com" and \
being taken directly to google.com) seems to respond arbitrarily at best. I cannot ever guess \
when this feature will take me to a completed search page or some web site that I have never \
even heard of, simply because the web site shares the same name as my query. My suggestion \
would be to make the option available to leave the search engine portion of this feature \
available while disabling the Internet Keywords feature in Konqueror Configuration (right now \
both features are controlled by one check box). Another excellent feature would be the ability \
to define or remove Internet Keywords of your own. As it stands, I can find no discernable \
list of Internet Keywords anywhere in the Konqueror configuration. I have no way of knowing \
what will even bring up the search engine or what will automatically redirect \
me to a web site.
Anyway, I hope that somehow you can make this useful. I really appreciate your products; \
keep up the good work, etc., etc...
Thanks for your time --
Jason
