Thank you for your bug report.
The bug that you reported has been identified, and has been fixed in the
latest development (CVS) version of KDE.

Orientation for a sheet is normally defined in Format-Page Layout.
The option of the printdialog was ignored which is fixed now. The print dialog 
orientation option is now a temporary option, so if you change something 
there, you don't change the page layout setting. If you want to change it 
permamently, you still need to do this in the page layout dialog.

The bug report will be closed.

I tried to print a table (portrait) and got it in 2 pieces on 2 papers. So I tried to \
print the same table in landscape-mode, but I got the same to tabel-pieces in \
landscape on 2 papers. the table was small enough to be placed on one paper in \
landscape.
