Your message with subj: KDVI / your bug report

Hello,

thank you for your bug report. The problem which you described (kdvi
crashes on a file with source information) has (hopefully) been fixed in
KDE 3.0, which is to appear very soon. If the problem still persists on
your machine, could you please send a copy of the offending DVI file to
kebekus@kde.org? -- Thanks.

Let me assure you that I value your bug reports very highly. Please keep

sending in problems which you exerience. Without the help of many people

which test the everday-stability of KDVI, I could never make that
program the robust and stable tool which I hope it is going to be in the

near future.

Regards,

Stefan Kebekus.

PS: If you are interested in regular information (two or three times a
year) about new versions of KDVI, please send an informal mail to
kebekus@kde.org The next version of KDVI, which is to come with KDE 3
will support text search, copy-and-paste text from a DVI file, export to
text, inverse search, and many other improvements.

has caused the attached bug report to be marked as done.

This means that you claim that the problem has been dealt with.
If this is not the case it is now your responsibility to reopen the
bug report if necessary, and/or fix the problem forthwith.

(NB: If you are a system administrator and have no idea what I'm
talking about this indicates a serious mail system misconfiguration
somewhere. Please contact me immediately.)

Subject: kdvi crashed opening file compiled with srcltx
From: wolk@netcomp.net

Package: kviewshell
Version: 0.1 (using KDE 2.9.0 1 (3.0 beta1))
Severity: normal
Installed from: SuSE
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (SuSE)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.10-4GB
OS/Compiler notes:

To make use of the new inverse search feature of kdvi, I compiled a latex source file with:

\usrpackage[active]{srcltx}

It compiled a .dvi file successfully.

When I tried to open the file under kdvi, kdvi crashed. I obtained the following backtrace from gdb:
