Subject: Bug#39951: kded crashes on startup of KDE (SIGSEGV)

Package: kded
Version: KDE 3.0.5 CVS/CVSup/Snapshot
Severity: normal
Installed from: Compiled sources
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.4 20011002 (Debian prerelease)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.18
OS/Compiler notes:

When I start up the CVS version of KDE 3.0 on my machine, it crashes on startup.
The KSplash screen appears and goes until the second step. Then KCrash appears four \
times, and after I close the last KCrash window, KDE dies. The backtraces of the \
crashed application looks like this (unfortunately they were not compiled with debug \
support...):

----------------------

I'm using an up-to-date Debian woody distribution with gcc 2.95.4, XFree86 version \
4.1.0.1, the version of QT that came with KDE 3.0rc3 (qt-copy). I have compiled and \
installed QT and KDE in /opt/kde3 without root privileges. The version of KDE was \
pulled out of CVS, using your anoncvs instructions, yesterdy (29th of March), but I \
had already experienced the same problems 4 or 5 days earlier.

(Submitted via bugs.kde.org)
(Called from KBugReport dialog. Fields Application, KDE Version manually changed)
