In KDE 2.1.1, I am using the autohide feature of kpanel. All is fine and well with the panel; however, ANY TYPE OF WINDOWS that opens (i.e., I open a konqueror session) still behaves as though there is a panel at the bottom when it first opens. That is to say, any new windows does not fill up the entire screen, it leaves a thin strip of unfilled space at the bottom of the screen where the kpanel used to be (before it automotically hid itself). It would be EXTREMELY convenient if KDE would automatically fill the entire screen and be aware & cognizant of the autohiding kpanel. Thank you!
