Yes, menuconfig et al. are a little more tolerant when parsing those files. 
I've added workarounds for known syntax errors, maybe this is another one, 
maybe it's really a bug (rejecting correct syntax). As I don't run SuSE, 
could you please send me /usr/src/linux/fs/Config.in, in case it's been 
patched by SuSE.
The line quoted above looks correct, so maybe there's something unexpected in 
the lines before.
