Your message with subj: kWord, printing, ISO8859-15, wrong font size

Font substitution: done by Qt, improved in future versions (3.0).
Characters overlapping: this bug is fixed, fix will be in KOffice-1.1.1.
As a workaround, embed a dummy KWord document into the main KWord document.

Subject: kWord, printing, ISO8859-15, wrong font size
From: vincefn@users.sourceforge.net

Package: kword
Version: KWord 1.1 (using KDE 2.2.1 )
Severity: normal
Installed from: Mandrake RPMs
Compiler: Not Specified
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Mandrake 8.1

There is a problem with printing in kWord (possibly other applications-not tested), \
when not using ISO8859-1 (I've tested ISO8859-15, for the euro symbol- the selection \
of the encoding was made in the KDE panel). It seems that the font in the preview and \
postscript printing is taken systematically as something like Helvetica size 8 or 9 \
(resulting in a lot of overlap between characters on the same or different lines).

I reverted to ISO8859-1 in KDE and the problem disappeared for new documents.

Note that when copying/pasting from a document created in 8859-15 to a document \
created in 8859-1, the portion of the text which is pasted is still wrong. This may \
help locate the bug.

Note that I've been positively impressed by the new version of kWord. At least \
something working, and *much* lighter than staroffice.

Hope that helps (I saw some approaching, but not equivalent bug reports about font & \
printing- hope this is not already fixed- I have not checked CVS)
