It's available again, in RMB-on-titlebar / Configure, the second (and last) icon,
the "buttons" tab. It seems this depends on the window manager client ("style") \
though.

There was an option in KDE 1.1 that would allow the custom placement of the gadgets \
in the title bars of windows.  For example I could place the close gadget on the left \
side of the title bar.  This type of customisation seems to be no longer available \
and I miss it.  I hope this could be reintroduced because by customising which side I \
placed what gadgets saved a lot of frustration that I usually meet with the \
"standard" placement.
