Seems like gnome had nothing to do with it. Most of the times after i log in, 
about 20% of focus changes by mouse, and 90% of focus changes by alt-tab, 
will either not change the keyboard focus (even if the windowbar is 
highlighted) or lock the keyboard. I have to resize a window to get it back.
About once every 10-15 logins, everything works perfectly...
If it was up to me, i'd upgrade this bug to 'critical'.
