OK, so the option does get saved but not everytime. AFAICT when I quit amarok
manually it gets saved, when I just shutdown the PC it doesn't get saved.

So... maybe it's a distribution problem (i.e. depends on the way shutdown is
handled) - I'm using Kubuntu 13.04
