Hi,

I re-post this request as it was incorrectly "resolved" (ironic) as "invalid"...
Thanks

REQUEST :

It would be nice if Amarok could retrieve album cover from MP3 TAG ID3 information.
Advantage:
Existing library saved on MP3 player with cover art could be recovered directly in \
Amarok. This would prevent the download of wrong images from the web and false \
updates (e.g. if you have already set the right cover art with iTunes on your iPod, \
especially with customized covers or covers fomr bands that do not exist in amazon, \
etc.).

"RESOLUTION":
------- Additional Comments From sitter.harald gmail com 2007-10-30 20:17 -------
First of all: what are MP3 TAG ID informations?

Anyway, Amarok uses either it's own cover from Amazon (in case you once downloaded \
it), covers which are embedded in a file itself or a proper image within the folder \
the file is placed in.

I think that is actually everything one can do anyway, plus the fact that "mp3 tag id \
information" means pretty much nothing -> INVALID

Also I think covers get transfered from iPod as well...

MY COMMENT:
Please refer to http://www.id3.org/Home for more information about ID3 tags!
This is how iTunes stores Album art. Which cannot be retrieved by Amarok. So \
basically if you have properly set your album art information on iTunes, Amarok will \
replace it by hopefully some data (and in some cases, wrong data!). Thus my request \
which is (sorry to contradict you) perfectly valid! \
