The files are evil_suite.c, evil_suite.h and evil_test*.(c/h). Forget 
about the Windows stuff in evil_suite.c, it's for one of the tests. It 
depends on nothing and is very simple. You can improve it if you want, of 
course. The licence is BSD like.

If you want something more solid, with a lot more features, look at the 
'check' library (http://check.sourceforge.net/).

In that case, yes, something that can be downloaded apart zlib is better.
