Hello all,

I am new to zebra. I have installed it everything seems to be fine. The
only problem is that when i ping the router (zebra freebsd computer) i
have very unstable TTL. Exemple

PING 80.248.64.4 (80.248.64.4) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from 80.248.64.4: icmp_seq=0 ttl=60 time=24.8 ms
64 bytes from 80.248.64.4: icmp_seq=1 ttl=54 time=25.8 ms
64 bytes from 80.248.64.4: icmp_seq=2 ttl=56 time=28.8 ms
64 bytes from 80.248.64.4: icmp_seq=3 ttl=22 time=30.7 ms
64 bytes from 80.248.64.4: icmp_seq=4 ttl=2 time=34.8 ms
64 bytes from 80.248.64.4: icmp_seq=6 ttl=30 time=29.0 ms
64 bytes from 80.248.64.4: icmp_seq=8 ttl=48 time=28.3 ms
64 bytes from 80.248.64.4: icmp_seq=10 ttl=56 time=26.0 ms

--- 80.248.64.4 ping statistics ---
13 packets transmitted, 8 received, 38% packet loss, time 12014ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 24.814/28.579/34.802/2.995 ms, pipe 2

because of this, i loose a lot of packets. However, when i am on the
same subnet as the zebra computer, i have no problem with the TTL (it is
constant).

just FYI
	Router# sh version
	Zebra 0.93b (i386-portbld-freebsd4.8).
	Copyright 1996-2002, Kunihiro Ishiguro.

What is that due to?

any help will be greatly appreciated

K.
