Why don't you try one of below means?

1st one:
Write "log trap (emergencies|alerts|critical|errors|warnings|notifications|informational|debugging)" \
command in zebra configuration file.

2nd one:
Edit /etc/logrotate.conf(or /etc/newsyslog.conf).

3rd one:
Try below step with cron.
1. Remove zebra logfile,
2. Make zebra logfile (with same name),
3. and send SIGUSR1 to zebra.
