Um, it is the SAME path length from your station to RTR-C eth2 (as far as
OSPF is concerned) via both directions. Remember, we're talking about a
connected /24 interface here, not a /32.  You're pinging a /32 but, as far
as the IGP is concerned, it's simply part of the /24 and that /24 lives as
a connected interface on both RTR-B and RTR-C.

OSPF is doing exactly what it should do.
