Hi Kevin:

I don't recall much about YDL 4 except that for what you are trying to
do it may be faster if you disabled/deleted wireless and enabled
Ethernet from within the Network Configuration tool which should show up
under the System Tools menu.  The tool when it boots identifies itself
as system-network-config.  Remember to access it by entering your root
password.  

You can also set the Ethernet connection to be the default configuration
which is initiated each time you boot into YDL.
