Subject: [xwt-discuss] mimetype for xwar

I have been playing around with getting xwars to open up more automatically
inside KDE.

Since Konqueror doesn't like signed java applets I am using the linux xwt
interpreter binary.

I've defined mimetype application/x-xwar and associated it with *.xwar
files.
Locally this works great. However for apps on xwt.org the web server is
sending back application type text/plain so the browser likes to open them
with a text editor (interesting, but not very useful).

Now I know I can just use my own web server and set the mimetype that way.
What I'm wondering is if that would be a good thing to do on xwt.org? It
already comes up and says that konqueror doesn't know how to handle signed
java applets and to download the xwt interpreter binary; would it be a good
idea to also send back mimetype application/x-xwar so that when you click on

a link from an email or enter the url directly into the location bar that it

at first comes up with "how do you want me to handle this?" and then let the

user say "assocate this mimetype with the xwt binary" ?

I know you can shift-click links on web pages and do it that way but for
bookmarks, email (mailing list) links and directly url entry it's not
possible.

Just an idea. :-)

Regards,
Andrew
