The encoding isn't known for an OutputStream either. XmlOptions allows for specifying \
a character set which is where the parsing and saving methods get their encoding \
anyway. Hence XmlOptions.setCharacterEncoding. It's incredibly frustrating having \
different behaviour depending on what you're writing to and this should really be \
made consistent.
