Have you tried

if (xml.schemaType().getBultinTypeCode() == SchemaType.BTC_ID) ...

to check if an attribute is of type ID?

This looks interesting I want to implement DOM method getElementById,
I want to know if there is any method to know what attributes are Id,
in parsing time.

It is one big thing left to do seamless integration with the xml
signature library.
